it's almost like an obsession

Question Posted Saturday June 3 2006, 10:45 pm

unbelievably long but i only rate 5's

15/f

okay. well i know it's normal for some people to read a lot. i havent ever been into reading until maybe 2 weeks ago.. i went through all my library books and my mom let me borrow some books from her.. one of them was named Melody and it was from an author named V.C. Andrews

i know its kinda wierd, but i absolutely LOVE the book to the point where im making my mom get me her other books in the series. now here's the problem, there's only five books in the series and im not reading the last one because it's about Melody's grandmother and it just doesnt sound interesting. I dont know what to do when im done with the 4th one, i seriously am not gonna start reading again because i know that im gonna miss everything about those books. i cant even understand how i'll live without them.. so what should i do.. i want to write a letter to the author asking her to write more books in that series but someone told me the author was dead and it wouldnt make a differnce because i doubt she would really care or write more books for it (she only writes book series that go up to 5). i have to wait a whole week to get the 2nd book.

when i started reading the first book (the only one i've read so far) i read it nonstop. i read it at home, in school, in the car, everywhere i could.. what do you guys think i should do? dont tell me to see a psychologist or doctor or anything lol.. im not THAT crazy

What should you do? Keep reading. It's not a bad thing, it makes you more intelligent, and a lot of people simply DON'T read, which is really quite sad. Unfortunately, V.C. Andrews is dead, but she has other books and there millions of other books out there! Read everything you can get your hands on.

Here are some of my favorites:
"Luna" by Julie Anne Peters
"Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte
"Flipped" by Wendelin Van Draanen
And I'm currently reading one called "I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You" by Ally Carter

You're NOT crazy--you're awesome. Don't ever stop reading.

There is nothing at all wrong with reading a lot. I do it myself. I have read V.C Andrews Flowers in the Attic series, but never really got into the others.

She died of breast cancer in 1986. She has a lot of series novels though.

Her is a real short biography on her that lists
all the books if you are interested. Now that you have started reading a lot, you will find other authors that will interest you too! You are
perfectly normal. :)
