Scan to Editable Text

I have a college essay and lost the original text document. I know some scanners have technology to scan documents and convert the scanned picture to editable text.

Is there a program you can download that will automatically do this? I have a normal scanner.

One program may be possible to do this and it's Adobe Acrobat, which converts documents into text, (it's also named as PDF) which is smiliarly the same thing. You can get a free trial of this online at [Link](Mouse over link to see full location).
