Make-Up! Please help!!

Question Posted Saturday May 27 2006, 3:53 pm

I really need some help with my make-up application because I SUCK at it!!!

I have brown hair, brown eyes and a fairly pale, uneven complexion. I don't get many spots but have loads of blackheads, which has made my skin look a little blotchy. I have very long eyelashes and quite like my mouth because I have full lips but I don't know how to make the best of what I have.

I need to know what sort of colour eyeshadows and lipsticks I should wear, how to apply them and so on. Also, if anyone has tips on eyeliners and foundations, that would also be helpful because the foundation I picked out is too dark!!

You have brown hair, brown eyes and pale skin so you're probably a cool medium (you can be different types).
I think you should make the most of your lips and lashes by applying volumising mascara and sparkly gloss.
You would also suit silver, blue and taupe (browney-cream) for eyeshadow as it will bring out your eyes.
Go for dusky pink blusher and bubblegum pink glosses.
You would look great with dark brown eyeliner!
Whatever you do, never wear lime eyeshadow orangey blusher cos they really wont suit you.
To find the perfect foundation, try this:
1. make sure you buy the right type for your skin - if you have if you have dry/uneven skin then go for creams. If you have normal skin then go for liquid, powder or tinted moisturiser. If you have sensitive skin then go for gels. If you have oily skin then choose matte. If you have combination skin then pick powder.
2.go to the shops and have a testing sesh, make sure you're not currnetly wearing any foundation.
3. pick three shades close to your skintone then apply them on your jaw.
4. stand near a window and look into a hand mirror, the colour which you can see the least is the one you should buy.
5. remember that your skin looks darker in the summer, so you should also buy on a shade darker.

Hope i helped,

Skin:
*Blackhead Clearing Scrub
*Oil-Fighting Deep Cleaning Astringent
*Dual Action Moisturizer
*Oil-Absorbing Sheets
*Clarifying Toner (evens out skin)

Makeup:
*Dream Matte Mousse by Maybelline (I use it and it works really well!)and there's a color pallet at the store so you know which one to buy!
*since you have long eyelashes, don't bother with mascara. go with eyeliner. I use the eyeliner in ink black by Bonnebell.
*For eyeshadows, use light colors like blues, greens and pinks.
*for lipsticks, go with light pinks and more natural colors. lip glosses and chapsticks are good also.

**everything i've mentioned can be found in a drugstore**

hope i helped!
