Concealing Stretch Marks

Question Posted Friday May 26 2006, 10:36 pm

I have HORRIBLE stretch marks..and i feel embarrassed when i put on a bathing suit..is there any way to disguise them or completely get rid of them? I've tried the cocoa butter thing but i dont like the results..I've heard tanning helps disguise them...is this true?? any suggestions?

Thanks In Advance!

Do yall think that applying a self-tanner to JUST the stretch marks would hide them??.

tanning can help, but NOT FAKE TANNING! the SUN can help heal your skin, but tanning beds just make them more visible! keep usuing cocoa butter, and then tan in your back yard or something if you really are uncomfortable at the pool. the cocoa butter will help the sun tighten your skin quicker.

and no, i have tried the self-tanner to just the marks.... they just turn darker than your real skin

good luck

I recently found out that, while stretch marks are normal, having many of them is actually not good. If you have them all over, you may want to speak to a doctor about it.

There are a couple of effective ways into reducing the appearance of them. Cocoa Butter is a highly effective lotion that can reduce the appearance of the stretch marks and even get them to start fading away. But in your case you say it isn't that effective. It's a long-term thing, however. Another effective way would be to start getting tans.. the tans could reduce the appearance of them as well. They do help for the most part.

And one more way could be you can try getting creams for it at a local beauty store or salon. They offer some variety of quick creams to quickly get rid of it. (usually they take up to a week to work!)

Actually, tanning usually makes them worse.
Your skin gets tan, but the stretch marks stay
white, I use cocoa butter and it works great for me, but if you have them really bad, then go see your doctor. I heard that TriLASTIN-SR works good
but it costs a lot.

ive never heard that tanning can hide them but im not sure, ive def. noticed on some ppl an dmyself that tanning can bring them out more so i wouldnt recommend that. try getting some of that lotion that pregnant women use for their stretch marks, ive never used it but if it works for a stomache that has been extremely stretched it cant hurt to try. right?
