not exactly sex, but my period

Question Posted Monday May 15 2006, 8:09 pm

hey, well i'm 13 and i just started my period for the first time last month. I'm a swimmer and I got my period for the second time today. Being a swimmer, i have to learn to use tampons. I tried one just now to see what it was like and to practice. It was uncomfortable going in but i got it in. Is there anyway to make it easier? Also, i couldnt push it completly in, there was about a centimeter sticking out, is this normal?

Thanks,
Paige

P.S.- I picked you because in your description you said something along the lines of "everything from tampons to ...."

Ok yeah its normal for it to hurt a little - but its also important to make sure it doesn't stick out - if it sticks out even a little it will be uncomfortable and not do its job ... try getting some slender tampons ( the make special ones just for teens)
hope this helped
