and what makes it illegal?
and illegal on what grounds?
sex or dating?

You are underage (a Minor) and she is over 18. In most state the age of consent isn't until 16, still that would be grounds for someone who didn't like the idea to press "sex with a minor" charges. That is, if there is any sexual activity (at all) going on.
