Another good thing to do is take the money you would be spending on cigarettes, and put it away; at the end of the month, spend it on something fun! [ NinjaNeer's advice column | Ask NinjaNeer A Question ]

1) Read a book - since smoking is done using the mouth, nose, hands, and arms, you would want something that can keep you busy during the urge.
2) Also get a pen or a pencil and write which can also keep you busy.
3) Try your hardest not to use nicotine substitutes - it still keeps you addicted, at some extent, to nicotine which you keep you addicted on it longer, and it'll later be even harder to kick the habit.
4) You can however, use gum or mints that are nicotine free, but use them moderately or wisely. Another reason why this could worsen in some ways is because this can form a new addiction. And this addiction is still bad.
5) No matter what - try your hardest not to smoke a real cigarette. Lighting one up and smoking it can cause you to get another cigarette immediately afterwards and smoke that.
