Lighting Board vs. Sound Board

Question Posted Saturday April 15 2006, 10:54 am

I only have 1,000,000 dollars to spend on a new lighting or sound console and I am not sure which one I should purchase... a new Mackie 24 channel 4 bus mixer or an Electronic Theatre Controls Express 24.48 dimmer board. I already have 4 Sure 58 mics and a Audio Technica 2000 Freewire series wireless mic that would work with the Mackie but i also have dimmer racks and source 4 fixtures that would work with the ETC Board.

I am not sure which one to choose PLEASE HELP!

Dear Confused in the Booth,

You aren't the only one confused in this situation. If I were you, I'd go with the sound board. Usually there are sound problems more than lighting problems. But still, don't use big words-I'm easily confused.

Emily

Hope that helped!
