Chest pains.

Question Posted Wednesday April 12 2006, 1:17 am

Im mid twenties, and ocassionally have pains in my chest expecially when i take a deep breath. If I bend to my left I can feel a popping in my chest and i would have to straighten myself and then it goes away. When i lay in bed at night, and lay on my left side, a sharp pain goes through my chest. What could be wrong with me.

Well, I just got home from the ER for similiar symptoms. I am 42 and I smoke so we may differ.
Do you notice any swelling in your hands or feet before or after the pain in your chest? If yes I have learned that it may well be related to Heart Disease.

The popping noise may indicate that you have a condition known as a "Hiatal Hernia" which is a condition I had when I was 20. Same problem, chest pain and thaught I was having a heart attack. I would look into both of these issues.

Chest pain is not to be taken lightly. You can go to WebMD online and they have a section for diagnosing your symptoms. It will help you.

Good Luck

I used to have this problem, everytime i breathed in it hurt a lot especially in my rib cage. Anyways, it could just be gas. Try stretching more, and work out a little bit. If it doesn't go away after doing so for about a week, i would deffinitly see a doctor just to be safe. good luck!

Whatever it is I would suggest you have it looked at by a doctor.

Have you fallen or been hit in the ribs recently?
Its posible one of them is broken. They really don't tape them up or anything anymore, but you want to make sure a lung doesn't get punctured. :)
