I don't know how it did, I put it down next to me to get a book out and the next moment I looked, the screen was cracked and broken, making the screen useless and make it near impossible to choose what I wanted to do with the iPod.
I called Apple technical support and they said nothing can be done. The lady suggested googling for third party resources to help fix the screen, so I did and got a few good results.
However, the price is something I need to take into consideration. I found the prices varied from as high as $150 to as low as $95.
My question though, is if anyone has expierenced a similiar problem with iPod LCD screens and has gotten the replacement for it via third party resources. If so, can anyone give me any websites that have low prices for replacement screens and installation of those new screens? Perhaps I overlooked something, but I was wondering if anyone had any websites that are secure and cheap in replacing LCD screens for iPod mini's.
Additional info, added Tuesday April 11 2006, 6:45 am: Also I should add I do not wish to replace my current one. I don't like the nanos and refuse to buy them. I want my current 4gb green iPod mini, and nothing more than a new screen.. Want to answer more questions in the Hobbies category? Not like a video iPod, but go to amazon.com and search for iPods and you can find brand new 20 GB iPods (not color screen though) for 150 bucks.
