Hi, I am 13 years old and my mom and my (married sister) got a letter from a local collage saying that they found a file on the Google search engine saying that they had their SSN, Address, etc. But the reason that I think it's a scam is because first of all my mom is 48 and my sister is 28 and they have NEVER applied for a collage application or even went to collage. But in the letter it said something along the lines of "Student ID, Academic Plan, Admit Type, and Academic Load." So do you think it's a scam. My sister and mother never use the computer!
Additional info, added Saturday February 4 2006, 7:57 pm: I got this letter in the mail. NOT E-mail.. Want to answer more questions in the Work & School category? Maybe give some free advice about: Personal Finance? xomegaroni answered Saturday February 4 2006, 6:24 pm: it probably is a scam. you can't really trust those things. it seems like one of those website adds like "you won 100$!!" & then you click on it & it's a virus er something. but anyway, ask them about it. if they never applied though it seems doubtful & stuff.
