Question Posted Wednesday February 1 2006, 1:42 am
A guy friend had told me that I had a good voice and had a lot of "talent". He started giving me voice and guitar lessons, and told me that one day he wanted to start up a band with me as the lead singer. We were getting along great, and both liked the same music (folk rock, like tom petty and neil young). Well for no reason at all he stopped giving me lessons. A couple of months later I found out from someone else that he had started up a band, and had a girl as the lead singer. I confronted him and asked him why he didnt invite me to join the band. He said that my voice needed too much training. Then I asked him if just me and him could work on my singing and he said no. So I did the only thing I could think of to keep singing, I joined a church choir.I've been told by the people in the choir I have a good voice, so I know I have what it takes to be a lead singer. My question is:Do I have a right to be upset with him? I think what he did was really mean. And why would he have told me in the beginning that I had a good voice if he really never wanted me in his band to begin with?
