Roadies

Question Posted Wednesday January 18 2006, 5:54 pm

How do you become a roadie? I know that sometimes you have to be some kind of tech or engineer or something, but there are the merch roadies too right? I was just wondering were could you apply to become a roadie without any experience, and is there a certain age? Like do you have to be older than 16 or something like that?

Thanks.

you'll probably need to start with a band with someone you know in it. Not just any band is gonna let someone new hang with them. theres not really a law about 'roadies'but i doubt youll be able to do it during the school year

just talk to a local band and ask to haul their shit around. may not pay, but you can meet other musicians and such that you could rodie for and whatnot, and just work your way up. that's the way real men do it.
