I'm Michael. Deal with it. I go by Flip and I'll answer your questions. I'll give excellent advice if your question warrants it, but please, don't feed me that boyfriend girlfriend shit.

Would you please stop reccomending Nirvana, it hurts me to see it. Nirvana isn't anything new, it's the same song, but with different lyrics evertime. Say NIN instead and give us all a break. (link)
|
....because NIN songs aren't all the same or anything like that.
eat shit :)

just wanted to say, that Social Suicide happens to be one of my favorites.

How do you become a roadie? I know that sometimes you have to be some kind of tech or engineer or something, but there are the merch roadies too right? I was just wondering were could you apply to become a roadie without any experience, and is there a certain age? Like do you have to be older than 16 or something like that?
Thanks.

just talk to a local band and ask to haul their shit around. may not pay, but you can meet other musicians and such that you could rodie for and whatnot, and just work your way up. that's the way real men do it.

ok well I have been talking to myslef since I was about 6 or 7 and I seriously feel like I'm talking to someone else. I ask myself questions and then give myself an answer all out loud. When I think these I can't come to a solution, but when I talk to myself out loud I feel like another person is talking to me. I find myself looking in magazines and saying out loud and pointing as if I'm giving another person a visual "I'm her."(on that I also find myself choosing who I am in a movie show anything even books... what could that mean) And then I sit in my room and I act out diffent things talking to myself and then talking as if I'm another person and I can get so into it that I get angry or upset I can even cry example: (I have done this) i say "I love you so much" then "I don't know if this will last so let's not kid ourselves and continue with this" then my throat starts to close up and I get so into i say more and more and start feeling the emotions one would feel if this were actaully happening and then I just keep on talking to myself. Is this normal? If not what is it? I'm 13 (link)

there's nothing wrong with you. it's part of your personality. what makes you who you are. don't listen to the crap other idiots who think they know anything on this site have to say and certainly don't take their s*** (such as the last response, i suggest you resond with a good f*** you, as i know i will). people on here are inconsiderate and are harming people with their lack of knowledge and they're collectively playing a role in making everyone else dumber. i'm sorry i'm taking this frustration out in my answer to you, but i had to it somewhere. you don't need to see a doctor, and most of all you don't need any medication or way of fixing it because it is not a 'problem or some sort of 'disease'. it is simply a part of you and is really more common than you think. everyone talks to themself in some way, such as when they think to themselves or something of that nature, you just tend to express it out loud. don't take it seriously and don't think for a second somethign is wrong with you. there is NOTHING wrong with you.
hope i helped,

my boyfriend and i are in a weird situation. we barely talk and i want to get closer. and he thinks i'm cheating on him with his best friend.
i can't really explain my feelings, so i decided i should make him a mixtape(well, cd)
sooo..
any songs about regaining a love that faded
and/or letting someone know you don't love anyone else more than them? (link)
|
dude, grow up.
if he doesn't trust you and thinks you're cheating on him, you don't fix it by sending a CD...jesus.
give him reason to trust you, not a bunch of overplayed love songs he probably hates anyway.
if you want him to know your feelings, you don't send him a pile of commercial songs that'll say anything to sell. most of them are so unorignal and have barely anything to do specifically with your relationship, so unless there's a song that's just perfect (which i'm assuming there isn't considering you need to ask), don't bother.
what you should do is talk to him, write to him, or communicate with him in some way what you're feeling and if he want's to give you the time of day to sit through your obsessive girly relationship shit, then express how much you love him and only him and see if he'll give it another shot and if he won't listen to what you have to say, he's not interested enough anyway and you should move on.
or something... i hate relationships

My guitar teacher asked me to find a song I liked with a strumming pattern in it. Problem is, I don't know any songs I like, with that it in. Any songs/tab would be greatly appreciated.
I like mostly alternative/modern rock songs.

smells like teen spirit- nirvana
under the bridge- red hot chili peppers
almost any green day song
sweet child o' mine- guns and roses
drain the blood- the distillers
the vast majority of songs have specific strumming patterns really... good luck though

Does anyone have any good rock band recommendations? I love the ones I listen to now, but listening to them over and over again sometimes gets tiring. Help would be appreciated. (link)
|
nirvana god dammit. no one's said nirvana.
also: tool, the white stripes, mudhoney, sonic youth, social distortion, johnny cash, the beatles, blind melon, the red hot chili peppers, the distillers, velvet revolver, and audioslave.
clearly...
the others who answered this question seem to have no taste in music.
sheesh

i have played piano for over 6 years now and wanted to start learning the guitar. i didnt really want to have lessons but i was hoping there might be some sites on the net with some free beginners music.
i have done a google search and found a couple but i was hoping someone might be able to tell me like a really good one or something...thanks! (link)
|
the easiest and fastest way to learn, is through tabs. they're simple enough for any idiot to learn and can teach you any style of music you want to learn (which keeps you on track because you're more likely to practice your favorite band's songs than you are to practice mary had a little lamb). Once you outgrow tabs start learning theory and scales and whatever, but you'll know exactly what to do by the time that step comes.
hope i helped,

Has anybody on here had any experince with Everly guitar stings? (Specifically Acoustic phosphor bronze ------ .012 -.053) Are these strings durable? Have a nice tone quality? Overall? I'd like to have some opinions on these strings.
Thanks =) (link)
|
I've not had experience with the exact brand, but bronze strings generally have great tone for a short time and then die out. The reason is, such thin amounts of bronze tend to oxidize very fast and that pretty much kills the tone, but if you like bronze strings, I see no reason not to try this brand. You'll only be out $3-$4 and they could be exactly what you want.

Well, I adore singing.. to me.. it's a way of life. I do it 24-7.
I don't really know if I could ever do it infront of anyone other than myself! I'm so affraid that I will mess up, or people will hate my voice. Personally? I love my voice... but they always say, "Sometimes, you hear what you want to hear, not what is heard by others." I don't know what to do. In a few months.. I'll be moving to Tennessee to live with my Father. He says that Nashville is a land of opertunity for me. (he and my step-mother are the only ones I've ever sang infront of) Well, my Step-Mother, is persuing her singing career. And I'm SO happy for her. She has the prettiest voice.. EVER I'm not sure what to do..
Anyone have good advice for me?
Thanks..

Hey kid,
I'm a vocalist as well and I know exactly what you mean. The best way to start is going to be singing in front of people you know and will be supportive. It may seem harder than singing in front of strangers you'll never see again, but your family and etc. will support you and build your self-esteem. When you move to singing in front of strangers it may also be helpful to sing a warm-up song for them that isn't terribly hard for you. Anything else should come naturally I suppose.
hope I helped,

i dont have money i dont have a nice face i am very alone i want to have a girl frind and i know haw i get the girll frind (link)

dude,
You don't need to worry about it, believe me. It's really not what it's made out to be. My advice: just let it happen. If you go out just for the sake of going out, it won't make you any happier and you'll probably end up with some shallow chick who'll lower your self esteem anyway. Also, you need to stop worrying about changing yourself for a girl and worry about finding someone who you can relate to and likes you the way you are.
I'll save you my rant and what not and just leave off right there. But seriously man, you don't just NEED to have a girlfriend for the sake of having one. Doing that is exactly what society seems to be all about today and it's beyond pointless.
good luck anyhow,
Flip
