okay there are these 2 guys in my english class. they both sorta flirt with me but one i think is doing it to make fun of me and other other i think really likes me. they are both friends and one is like hey lets go to the xmas dance, i wrote you a poem and the other one says aww shes a really nice girl i want to go to the dance with her ( the one that is nice) how do i know if they truelly like me or not?

All you have to do is ask them. What's a better way then finding out from the source? & if you don't feel up to asking them, then go with your gut instinct. It's better to follow your heart in cases like this.

I guess if they seem genuine about it. You said the one seems just like he is making a big joke out of it. If they like you, they probably flirt with you a lot, more than they do with any other girl. If I were you I'd go with the guy I thought was serious about it. good luck babe.
