downloading from a CD

alright I tried to download songs from my CD onto my ipod and when it says "convert selection to aac" I do it but it wont let me put them on my ipod. I tried to import the file but it wouldn't work.

can someone please give me a step by step explanation on how to download the songs off my CD to my ipod (mini)? please.

edit:
just an idea: go back and press "No" when it asks you to convert it(if possible) get back to me
