I mean, it's much easier said than done, but you just need to talk to him more. If this really means a lot to you, you need to put in the effort. He doesn't know how you feel, so it's all on you to make your relationship go somewhere. Talk to him online maybe or just go up to him and make the conversation go farther than "Hi".
