Answer many questions -- answer them well. Be polite, and be honest. Present to people all solutions you see to their dilemma. It's all about building a name for yourself; you just have to get out there, ya know? One thing I can suggest is using proper grammar, and DON'T asking people to rate or view your column - we hate that around here. :) Goodluck!

Just keep answering as many questions as you can to the best of your ability and you'll get your name out there. But don't put your name in people's inboxes and tell them to ask you things. That's spamming and you'll be banned for that.

If you're new to this site, it's going to take a while before people are going to start noticing your column. Just start answering questions that you know the advice to and answer them as best as you can. People tend to notice columnists who give good advice. Also, your overall column helps getting your column out there. You could add some color and a premade layout that the site offers; just don't go to far with that. Adding columnists to your favorite columnists list will help too.
