I know what the symptoms of mono are, but for anybody that's had it does this sound like mono to you?
My boyfriend has been one to always stay up really late (like 5 sometimes lol), but he always sleeps in on weekends to catch up and stuff so it's not all that horrible. Lately he's been getting really tired at night. He goes to sleep at like 10 or 11 which is extremely early for him. I've never known him to go to sleep until after 1. He gets headaches all the time and he's had a really bad cough on and off since I've known him, but he says that's normal for him. He hasn't been coughing lately and his headaches haven't been happening as often. He's never really eaten that much so it's hard to tell if he's lost his appetite at all. Even though he's crazy tired at night he's wide awake during the day now. What could explain him being so tired at night all of a sudden? Could it be mono? He's really stubborn and would never get tested for it. If this sounds like mono at all to anyone let me know because I don't wanna get it!

Someone who has mono can easily give their partner mono if they kiss them. It is not very contagious, and it is not an airborne virus, but kissing is not the ONLY way to get it. But those infected by mono, usually begin to feel the symptoms about 12 days after they are first infected. Mono usually then lasts about 2-4 weeks, and there is about a week recovery period. Mono usually lowers the amount of white blood cells in your body, so you are prone to other infections while you are suffering from mono. Normally, people with mono feel very tired all the time. It is very similar to a head cold, but runny noses and sniffling may not be part of the symptoms. Soar throats and coughs may also appear. Those with mono must stay in bed for long periods of time, and should not go out in public. [ rainbowNsunshine91's advice column | Ask rainbowNsunshine91 A Question ]

xomegaroni answered Sunday November 6 2005, 9:37 am: he needs to get tested, because if mono isn't helped, if that's what it is, then it can juss get worse. if you have mono, you have a fever. if he doesn't have a fever it might be something else.
