I'd say, spend time with him. It can be small, such as chatting with him in class, writing him a note, etc. See if he responds. If he's smiling, laughing, making eye contact, etc., then that's a good sign. After you've been approaching him, if he starts coming up to you as well, that probably means he's interested.
Try touching him on the shoulder, giving him a "friends" hug, just little things. Later, try asking for his phone number, hanging out at the movies, these are just some ideas. If he does not decline and if things do not seem awkward, I'd say he likes you too!
