Ask her birthday, her favorite holiday. Ask her WHY it's her favorite holiday. Ask what the best birthday present she ever received was. Ask about her siblings - age, name, school and so on. Ask her favorite food. Ask her LEAST favorite foods. Ask her favorite restuarants. Ask what her favorite dish at that restuarant IS. Ask if she's ever seen snow. Ask if she likes to shovel snow. Ask if she likes to sled. Ask where she sees herself in ten years. Ask what names she likes most. Ask her pet peeves, and ask WHY those ARE her pet peeves. Ask what her favorite board games are. Then tell her what YOURS are. Branch off the topics you create, ya know?
Anyhow, those were just some sample questions, but do you see what I'm getting at? Purpose a question to her. And question WHY her answer is what it is. It might all seem like useless information, but if you really have an interest in her.. it should all matter to you. :)
