maybe

Question Posted Monday September 19 2005, 3:22 pm

When a guy says maybe does it usually mean yes? Like my one friend asked the guy I liked if he'd ever go out with me and he said I don't know maybe. So do you think that means yea since to guys maybe usually means yes?

i think it depends on the person. when i say maybe, it means just that. i wouldnt try and read in to much to what his answer of maybe it could mean a million diffrent things. at least he didnt say no, but would you really want to go out with a guy who cant give a straight answer, i think i would want a yes or a no.

everybody says maybe might mean yes but to some people they say maybe so they dont hurt somebody's feelings at first.. that way they know the person they said maybe to make em think that they actually thought about it.. i think if this guy gives you a No answer he probably was from the beginning.. if he says yes then he was probably going to give a Yes answer from the beginning.. ♥ Dez

No. You forgot to mention the "I dont know" part. That means he just doesn't want to say know. It's the shy was of you getting turned down.

Yes, it means it will be a yes. I have never heard of a case where it is a no. It means taht he has some feelings for you, and those feelings only grow once he finds out that he likes you. That leads to a dating.

maybe usually means maybe. Us guys like to actually think stuff over....so it depends...also he doesnt know what you mean by that because you arent makeing it very clear you like him. i dont know maybe means that unless the girl he likes starts putting out, your next in line.

yeah it really depends on the guy and stuff. but usually it means they dont know yet and havent put enough consideration into it yet. ask him again in like a week and see what he says then.
