I think white nalish is cute. It depends if you can pull it off. I used it a couple of times. You could do a french manicure if you have clear nail polish. But anyways, it's cute.
I don't think it's a good idea to "play" him back but you should embaress him big time. I mean he didn't have to do that to you because you didn't deserve it at all! I never did that to a guy so I really don't know what you could do but say you will go with him and then find a close guy friend and just flirt with him or something and make that other guy really jelous!!! Don't listen to him when he says I miss you and stuff, it looks like it's just one of his games. At the end of the night just tell him you don't like him or whatever and if you want you can just say something mean to him that would embaress him. You could also "cheat" infront of him to piss him off. I don't know but hope everything works out.
