First, cut out all sodas and replace it with water.
Cut out all junk food and when you're hungry in between meals, snack on fresh fruit and veggies.
Cut down calories and still be healthy with the plate trick:
Half your plate should be fruit and veg.
A quater should be fish or chicken
and the other quater should be carbs (rice, pasta, bread, etc)
Don't do what the other person said and cut out bread and carbs. Carbs are your main source of energy. But instead of white bread, whole wheat brown bread.
If you're hungry when you're bored but you're trying not to snack then carry a glass of ice around with you and when you feel like chewing when you're bored, eat ice.
That way you satisfy your boredom with no calories and more water.
Do lots of cardio (running, dancing, rope jumping, etc) do 30-60 minutes everyday if possible but if not do at least 3 hours a week.
Also, if you want to tone your stomach too do crunches for your abs and side crunches for love handles.

babigirl500 answered Friday September 16 2005, 11:18 pm: of course! you can loose 10 pds in one week by advoiding a lot of sugars...so eat like only whats in the fridge so that would be like fruits yogurts ...anything like would be there on a normal basis and dont go near your snacks and goodies cabinets..basically dont eat sugar(which iknow is hard) in one week and you will loose 10 pds..the good thing is you only want to loose 5-8 so if you eat a little bit of sugar in foods you will probbaly loose 5-8 pds.
another techinque (sp) is just ingnoring badd foods such as high calorie stuff like ring dings or something...try to eat realy healty and what ever you do dont starve yourself!
