Encryption files

Hello there....
iam using windowsXP & i encrypted my file and folder to save my work...
so
i was need to format windows and drive C: , all my encrypted files on Drive D:
after formating I cannot access to files,,some body told me that i am lost my files because i format encrypt Key,,????? as they think!!!!
Please Help me or give me any program that can access me to my files...i have nothing to do now except waiting>

what do you meen encrypted, if you could provide a fle format into which you have put your files then perhaps i could point you to a program that understands it. and why would u encrypt your files for formating? you could have just put them on a disk in an archive
