There are two different codes. Remove the spaces between the "arrows" [ < > ]

< font color=YOUR COLOR HERE > YOUR TEXT HERE < /font >

- or you could use the following -

< font color=YOUR HEX CODE HERE > YOUR TEXT HERE < /font >

A hex code is a code consisting of the pound sign ( # ) and six letters. The hex code for the color RED is : #EE0000 The second code is better if you want alot more colors, but you have to know the color codes. A good website for colors : [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
