im making a quote site on geocities and i want to know how to upload a layout onto there...i have the layout saved 2 my computer i will rate anybody who answers me!
STEP 1. click download. when the screen pops up, click "save this file to disk".
STEP 2. save the file under something you will remember. make sure you will be able to find it. write it down
STEP 3. if winzip doesnt open automatically, go to start >> winzip.
STEP 4. click "I agree" on winzip, than click next >> next >> next (exc) until the end.
STEP 5. upload the files. if your hosted or have a domain, use FTP. Find the folder that you saved the file under and upload all the files. go to your index and it should be there.
STEP 6. if your on geocities, or a similar free server, go to where you upload files. Find the folder you saved it under and open it. Upload each graphic and HTML document in the package individually.
STEP 7. to UPDATE and change your files, since there is no right click, than open an HTML editor such as microsoft notepad. Find where you saved the files and open what you want to change. If you want to change the index page, open index.htm. If you want to change/ update the main page, update the other html file. (expample; dream.htm, avril.htm). Once its open, write the text you want to in the layout. Than copy the text into your geocities or host html editor. Save it as the SAME NAME as the file you opened. (If your changing a document called avril.htm, SAVE THE GEOCITIES/ WHATEVER file to avril.htm, also) Or if you use FTP, just upload the file.
