heyy i saw your layout and i found 1 that i wanted, for advicenators, but i have NO idea where to put it in custom settings! if you could help that'd be great.

Okay first of all save the background. Then if you have photobucket or tinypic put it there then copy the URL. Then go to Column Setting and then it will say Page background image (URL) and then you just paste it in there. Pretty simple.
