Marlowe_Cellars answered Tuesday August 9 2005, 2:46 am:
Bittorrent is a method of download. You can download nearly anything in the bittorrent format-- videos, music, tv shows, e-books, nearly anything you can think of. What happens is that you download something called a torrent file. This ends in the ".torrent" extension. You open this file with a BitTorrent client, and it downloads at rather high speeds.

The issue with downloading music with bittorrent is that you usually must download by album.

Steps for using Bittorrent:

1. Download Azureus. This can easily be Googled and downloaded.
2. Install Azureus and follow the direction.
3. Download the Torrent file of your choice.
4. Start Azureus and open the torrent file.
5. Select your download destination.

With that, you leave it on until your download is finished.

Some sites with torrents: www.bitenova.com, www.thepiratebay.com, www.yotoshi.com
