OK, so what if i did write how i feel about this person down .. lets say i have a whole notebook about him/her! i just can't get over this person. i know they are moving on, and i am too. i don't want to. what else should i do?

I know how you feel with this one, because I was going through it at the beginning of 8th grade. It's tough and probably won't get easier for awhile. But you have to realize that hes not comming back, its sad and it hurts but one day you will realize you can do so much better and be over him. One thing you definitely shouldn't do is constantly think of him, try and keep yourself busy, get your mind off of him. And even though its okay to cry, don't try and force yourself. Because the ending of a relationship is hard but you have to realize that you did nothing wrong, because its his loss and hes the one who changed his mind about you. One thing that I know for sure helps and makes it so much easier is not to talk to him, you don't have to do that it just helps you get over him faster. You might need to look at your other options. Such as meeting new people because a lot of times to get over someone is dating other people and when you find someone you really wanna be with you'll realize how much of an asshole this other guy was and how much better this guy treats you and how much happier you are. So just keep busy, try not to think about him that much, and get out there and meet new people. Oh I forgot one thing if your with someone else, and he wants you back whatever you do and as hard as it may be DO NOT go back to him, because then he knows he can do anything with you and your wrapped around his little finger, and obvoiusly hes just playing games and thats immature but through him a curve ball and prove him wrong, it'll feel good. Also you don't want the person your with to have to go through what you are now because you went back to your ex.
