Recording and Editing a music CD

I want to take the words out of a song on a music CD,and some how,(DO NOT KNOW HOW),record the same song with my voice. I want to use my computer to do this. Can anyone tell me HOW this can be done,IF IT CAN,or some ideas on how to do this at low cost,cheap software,computer recording trix,any advice no matter how little will help. I have a Music Match Plus Program,if that will help anyone,I will greatly appreciate the HELP. thank you,MrNoVoice.

can't be done. if the songs you want to record yourself over are hip-hop songs, you're in luck, because instrumental versions of most big hiphop hits are available...try searching kazaa or winmx for instrumental or inst and see what comes up. as far as recording, cool edit pro is the best program available for amateurs on windows. it'll set you back $500 or so but you can look for bootlegs online.

Yes, you can. There are a few ways you can do that. Audacity and GarageBand will enable you to record, edit, ect. sound files. GarageBand even comes with sound libraries (uber-cool lol). But, GarageBand is only for OSX, so unless you have an Apple, get Audacity. Both of those programs rock.

What you'll need to do is import the song onto your computer as an MP3 and then open it with one of these programs. With Audacity, you will need to go into the prefrences and make sure "Play other tracks while recording a new one" is selected.
