First of all, it isn't a "lower" chance of getting pregnant. Unless you know exactly when you ovulate and can completely avoid the few days before and after, there is never a "lower" chance of getting pregnant. Unfortunately, you can also ovulate more then once a month, which just makes it more tricky. Basically, use protection all the time, or you can risk getting pregnant (not to mention an STD).

yes...because the egg hasnt been released yet...it takes at least 3 days for the egg to travel down the fallopean (sp?) tube...and that is the only time you can become pregnant

Alright i lost my virginity right after i got off my period.. i was like freaking out so i went to the doctor he gave me a pregnacy test and he told me its very rare that i would be pregnant because i had just got off my period.. so yes it does lower the chances.. but you could still possibly get pregnant. ♥ Dez
