[G] Means a G chord, [C] Means a C chord, [Am] means A minor chord, and [D] is a D chord. The rest of the numbers is the tab. Starting from the very bottom line, that's the low E, then A, D, G, B, E. The numbers tell you what fret your finger has to be on for that chord. When you have something like that, you don't read it left to right. Start at the bottom and read each column, so it would be for the first- Finger in the E string 3rd fret. Finger on the A string, second fret. Open D string (that's what the 0 means) Open G string, and so on. It's a little hard to explain it through typing, I'd have to have you right next to me with a guitar in order for it to make more sense to you, because it won't right now. If you take lessons, you should start out learning actual notes instead of tab, because knowing tab is just the easy way out. A challenege is always good. And yes, my guitar is a fender =) I got it 2 years ago for Christmas.. I think
