Question Posted Friday June 3 2005, 6:10 pm

I want to go to collage like a university but my GPA isnt the best ( my freshmsn year i barely went to school) and i was told that i should go to a community collage for 2 years then a university. my teacher told me then they have to accept you if i do well in the community collage and also people tell me community collages and universitys are the same for the first two years. Does anyone have any infromation or experince with going to a community collage then a university?

K.. so.. to be honest.. I had NOOOOOOO clue...

SO THERE FORE... I asked one of my fRiends.. and heRe is his DIRECT QUOTE:

" Tell Him that I went straight from High School to a University and I think It is easy but it is no cake walk. In your situation and based upon the expeirences of me and fellow peers you should go to a Community College first then transfer over to the University. Community Colleges are more one on one teaching which is what you will need to develope those skills you missed Freshmen year as well as the skills you will need at a University. Communities set you up for the labor intensive Universities while giving you the one on one more so then an Univeristy. One on one works wonders, trust me. Also, make sure if you do go to a Community College that you go to one thats credits fully transfer to the Univeristy you are thinking about attending later on. Some Communities teach courses but not at an University level. Find out what you want to do or at least the Pre-requisites for the University you have in mind (This can be found at the Universities web site or information services on campus. You can also call the school and inquire as well.). The reason I recommend for you Community then University is because once someone has college credits and does fairly well at a Community or other College Universities wont really care what your high school grades were. This does not mean that they will except you if you dont do well at the Community it just means you have a chance at a Community College to make up for your loss in GPA while developing your skills in preporation for a University. "

**So yeah, haha.. we both hope you find that infoRmation useful!! =D
