Gay Boyfriend?

I REALLY like this one guy in my grade. But, my friends and some other people say that he's gay. I was REALLY upset when I heard this because I really like him!
I'm so confused with my emotions, and I'm wondering if I should still ask him out?

before you actually ask him out, make sure you REALLY do like him as a person first of all. then TALK TO HIM... tell him your concerns... then see what he thinks about you and how he feels about other guys
