There are three stories that I wanted to get an opinion on. In addition I have asked one question for each story to guide you in answering. Thanks. Please e-mail me at debbiefein@aol.com with your answers. Thanks I really appreciate it.
FIRST STORY: The two characters are Ramona and the store clerk. (Keep in
mind that Ramona has been in the
store a total of five times spread out throughout the year and when this
incident happened she was wearing a coat
and standing behind a partition so all the clerk could see was her neck and
face. Keep in mind Ramona is always
told she is thin/skinny and cannot weigh more than 110 pounds.
Ramona: How much should I take of this herb?"
Clerk "Most women should weigh a 160 you weigh a little less, so you can
take a little less" (He wasn't looking at her when he said this)
Ramona: What do you think I weigh"
Clerk: "130"
Ramona" You don't know what I look like"
Clerk: "I see you come in here (But every time Ramona comes in she runs
around the store, pays and leaves and she has been in the store a total of five
times spread out over a year)
MY QUESTION: Ramona's friends told Ramona that there isn't any way the clerk
could know what Ramona looks like weight and size wise due to the fact she was
standing behind a partition and all the clerk could see was Ramona's neck and
face and she was wearing a coat and he has seen her a total of five times
spread out over a year. Do you agree with them?
THE SECOND STORY: I overheard this conversation at a diner. I am making up
the names due to the fact that I don't know their names and it is easier to
tell the story.
Mary: "Rene what size do you take"
Rene: "I am a size 8"
Mary: "I thought you were an 8, but I could not remember if you said size 8
or 10?"
MY QUESTION: From this conversation would you think that all Mary was doing
was asking Rene what size she is and in addition Mary was confirming she
thought Rene was a size 8.
THIRD STORY: Also this is a story between Sharon (who is chunky) and Clair.
Sharon mentioned excerise to Clair as they parted company. Clair confronted
Sharon and Sharon said it is about the heart, Clair said do you think I am
thin, Sharon said Clair you are proportioned (average). Sharon paused and added
in you are a size 8 (added in size 10), Sharon said I think Sheela is a size
8/10. (Keep in mind Sheela is very thin). When Denise passed by Sharon called
Denise in and asked Denise what size she takes. and Denise said six and asked
why she was being asked, and Sharon said because Clair thinks I think she is
heavy. Clair told her co-workers the story, and the co-workers told her she is
thin/skinny, size 4 and cannot weigh more than 105 pounds. Over the weekend
five more people told
Clair she is skinny. Sharon did tell Clair during the course of the
conversation that Sharon doesn't know Clair well enough to joke with her.
MY QUESTION: Do you agree with Clairs friends that Clair should go by Clairs
co-workers and relatives that said Clair is thin/skinny and size 4 and cannot
weigh more than 105 pounds and Sharon thinks Clair and Denise look alike size
wise because Sharon said Denise I am asking because Clair thinks I think she
is heavy. Do you agree and why did you answer the way you answered?

woah that was confusing but im not really sure why your asking me these questions but ill answer then anyways so here we go 1. yes i do agree with ramona friends because it is a fact that the clerk could not see ramona fully 2. yes, i would think that all mary was doing was asking renes size but i think that she may have also been confirming or trying to tell rene that she was infact a size 8 3. no, i dont agree that she should listen to her co-workers sorry if i couldnt help much but i tried but i also didnt understand why you were asking me this question and im sorry i cant e-mail you my e-mail is down right nwo
