hmm, I think she really would rather you tell her than not. She probably still won't like the idea...you know mothers!

I guess if you've been seeing someone for a while you just tell her that while you may not run right out and have sex, that you do want to be prepared in case it happens. That way she doesn't automatically invision you having sex every time you go out the door! Tell her that you still plan on using condoms to help protect against STD's. Be really mature in your approach of the subject.

I think if you have an oppoturnity to take her out for a mother daughter day of shopping and lunch that would be nice. Kinda be on neutral territory. You could discuss it over lunch. Maybe tell her you're having feelings for this guy and you want to be prepared. Ask her opinion, treat her as you would a friend and not a mother. Tell her you value her opinion etc. Just be very mature, as I mentioned before. Make her feel like you really want her approval. Discuss diffrent methods of birth control. Ask which she thinks is the best. You get the idea. Just tell her you would like for the two of you to have a day out together alone. No siblings or anyone but the two of you. Make a date of it.

It will be difficult at first to get the talking going, but once you do, hopefully she will make you feel comfortable talking to her. You can do it at home too, I just think going out will make it more special. Anyway, I sure hope it helps. I wish you the best of luck and hope your day out turns out to be a great one. :)
