i really like this guy but i don't know how to tell if he really likes me or just want to be friends. what are the signs to tell if he likes me.

You can tell if this guy likes you when you catch him flirting with you by making eye contact with you (staring), when he smiles at you, when he compliments you on your clothing and such, and so on. If he always wants to be around you and would rather talk to you and not his friends, then he likes you. If he's nervous and blushes when he talks to you, he likes you. There are so many other signs too but these are just the obvious.
