Hey, this is Sporkster. Remember? You're "stalker"? Yeah, me. Anyway, since you're Advicenator's resident guitar expert, I'm sure you can answer my question. You see, my guitar is really being a bitch. It's an Ibanez acoustic, I just got it for Christmas. Well, I noticed today that I was getting this...suppressed sound instead of the really nice, clear sound I usually get out of it. I was checking it to see what was wrong and I noticed the tuning pegs were coming out of the 6th, 5th, and 4th strings. I'm sure you can imagine the look on my face (A mixture of "OH MY LORD" and "WHAT THE FUCK!?"). I tried loosening the strings and pushing them back in, but no. They refuse to budge. I asked my dad (he owns a Goya) and he said he had no clue. So, do YOU have any idea of what could be the cause of this/what I need to do to fix it? Thanks in advance for any advice you'll give.
Also - how much has the humidity changed where you live? Likewise, how are you storing the guitar at home? What kind of strings do you have on it, and how do you have the guitar tuned?
Hopefully, if you can get back to me with answered to my inquiry, I'll be better able to help... I don't want to take too wild a stab in the dark without more info.
