what does emo mean?
i know this is probly stupid, but i dont know what emo means. everyone always says it and all, but i dont know what it means. does anyone know what it means? i rate high!!

Emo is the shortened version of the word "emotional". I have no clue how the word "emo" came to be used describing a person's clothing style, but somehow, it did. Emo music is like the whiney music like my girlfriend left me, now I want to sit in a corner and slit my wrists blah blah blah. That kind of thing. It's a dumb trend in my opinion.

Emo is not just "emotional", it's basically screamo with emotion. It is often misconceived as things such as Dashboard Confessional and Yellowcard; This is post-hardcore Emo.

Emo basically means emotional. There is punk music that is considered emo and it means that this type of music is talking about emotional feelings such has love, heart break, loving someone, etc. Then there is emo for people; it basically means that someone is very emotional and such. Remember, EMO=EMOtional.
