RE: Eating Disorders/ Is it a sin?

Question Posted Wednesday March 16 2005, 11:26 pm

Tiffany, you asked in your answer to the question "Is it a sin" if having an eating disorder was a sin. The Bible says: "Don't you know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple."
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 This means that a body (person) is God's temple, and if you're His temple, and have an eating disorder, you're not taking care of His temple. Not eating is destroying God's temple. I know this isn't a question, but yes, I believe that having an eating disorder is a sin because it is cureable! They have rehab centers in most cities where you can get help. I hope this answers your question.
