It's a brilliant relationship to have if your not wanting to commit to someone, but still crave the more intimate parts that come with have to commit. Can be the best of two worlds if you don't get emotionally tied more than your friend!

A friend with benifits is a friend of the opposite sex (unless you're gay or bi then it could be either or) and you get sex from them with no strings attached. Meaning, you can have sex with them and do whatever but you're not tied down in a relationship with them. It's honestly really stupid because having sex with someone gets you emotionally attached. I wouldn't suggest it.
