Question Posted Sunday February 20 2005, 6:51 pm

Hi, I am in 7th grade and i need help. My three best friends and I have sat at the same table at lunch for a year and a half. Then this one person split us up, now they barely talk to me. I feel really left out. I have tried talking to them but they just kinda blow me off. What should I do?

Okay.. I know who this is and I know it involves me. But, I'll ignore that fact for now and just tell you what one should do in this situation.

The person that split you up probably is not aware of what she is doing. You should talk to her, or make friends with her! I mean, if you make friends with your friends' new friend.. then you will probably be more included in their hangouts, outings, and parties.

If that is a complete no-no, you should be there for your friends.. even though you might feel like they aren't going to include you. Sit with them at lunch. Make plans with them. Talk to them in the halls. Call them up just for fun. There is TONS you can do to make sure that you guys remain best friends!
If they don't respond to your efforts, then I'm sorry to say that you might just have to leave them. Also, one friend might be more loyal to the other. If that happens, don't feel like you have to stay friends with both of them. It's better to have one trustworthy friend than two friends-one nice, the other miserable.

Hope I helped.. fill me in on what happens!
