what's it like for the jewish in the uk tring to stick to their food laws?

Well, I don't live in the UK, but I would assume it would be the same situation no matter where you live. Unless it is some parts of Africa/Asia where they see the cow as sacred, because then you'd only be eating chicken I guess.

In conclusion - I have no clue whatsoever. If you are committed to your religion as much as you should be if you still consider yourself part of that religion, then you shouldn't be too upset about missing some non-Kosher foods.

Seriously I don't know.
