I would definately look for signs, does he make cotact with you when you two talk [touches your shoulder, your arm?], call you at home [a lot though, not just for homework], or get a little jelous when you flirt with other guys [defensive, snaps back at him or you?. If he does stuff like this, I would definately look into getting to know him more. If you know him pretty well, go for it! Ask him to hang out at the movies or mall, somewhere public, and see how it goes from there. Does he not like you? That might mean that he just used these signals to tell you that he's your friend.
