well if your feelings are that srong for him then never hold back, always tell. I had really strong feelings for this one guy but i never took the chance to tell him about it. Then later on i told him, but it was already to late. i was really upset and really dissapointed. Your ex-boyfriend seems like an okay guy because obviously he really cares about you and respects you enough to break up with you and go out with that other girl. Most guys wouldn've done it behind your back without telling you. Just always keep him in check, ask him questions about it every now an then, but not to often because then he'll start to get annoyed by it. Find out what he likes about you the most and make sure you'll always have it. Like if you have long hair and thats what he likes about you most, then dont cut it off, keep it. Or if he likes your smile and/or your laugh make sure you always show/let him hear it when your around him.
