i cheated on my boyfriend last night and i plan on breaking up with him monday becuase of it. but i dont wanna tell him that i cheated on him cuz i really wanna stay friends cuz we were relaly good friends just theyres no chemistry here... my boyfriend and this new guy dont know each other... so do you think i could get away with not telling my boyfriend and breaking up wiht him and going out with the new guy in a week or so? please help, im in over my head...

Ask_Anything answered Sunday October 31 2004, 2:00 pm: yikes! well, you might have some guilt from not telling your boyfriend, but if you can deal with that- you dont have to tell him. but remember there is a chance he will find out and things could be a LOT worse. if you cheated on your boyfriend, you obviously are looking for something new [or it sounds like you do] so breaking up with him would be a good choice. you're friendship might be a tad shakey for a while- so dont expect smooth sailing... lol. if the new guy and your boyfriend dont know each other there are good and bad things you'll come across. bad: he might be bothered that this new guy steps in and takes you away- and he has no idea who he is. good: he wont know him so he cant find out anything you dont want him to know. if you feel you know the new guy well enough, it's up to you whether or not you want to go out with him. you might want to give it a little while to make sure he doesnt turn into a person you didnt see. but in the mean time, do your boyfriend the favor of breaking up with him so you dont cheat on him again and feel horrible! sorry that things got crazy :( it'll get better eventually... =] -ask_anything [ Ask_Anything's advice column | Ask Ask_Anything A Question ]
