How do I know if he's lying or not?

Question Posted Sunday October 3 2004, 2:22 pm

Hey. umm my boyfriend and i have been together for 8 months.. almost 9 and i had to move away. we talked every single night and everything was going good, until he said that he didnt want a g/f who lived in a different state. so we broke up but he swore that everything was still the same and he loved me and only me and he wasnt going to try to find another girlfriend because i was the only one he wanted. but then some of my friends from where i used to live told me that he was holding hands with another girl and that he had went to a dance he swore to me he wasnt. if he tells me that none of that happened should i believe him?.. or my friends?

confused..

ok...9 months is a very long time...if he hasn't lied to u in the whole time you all have been together, then i would definitely believe him when he told you he loved you. But you shouldn't believe that he wasn't holdin another girls hand because what should he do since he can't hold yours, you know? He probably DOES love you and doesn' have the heart to tell you that he's found somebody else but he does love you. A long term relationship is hard for anybody, no doubt. And sometimes it's better to move on. But I would jsut ask him about it and tell him to be completely honest, and if it IS true, then you should move on too. There's always gonna be a special place in your heart for him, but surely there's somebody else out there who can fill the rest. Good luck!
