shaving?

when i go to shave my "area" it gets bumpy and sometimes bleeds. i shave against the hair, and idk if thats it. but i dont want to go wax it cause that would hurt real bad. does anyone have any suggestions? maybe its just the razor idk...but i dont like it at all. or if theres any hair remover that works really well or something. that would help alot thanks
