dysthymia is a type of depression that is similar to major (clinical) depression but it is somewhat of a "Milder" type of depression. studies have shown that most teens have dysthymia for about a year. some symptoms of dysthymia are: feeling that you are unloved, sad, angry or irritable, tired, guilty, self critical, negative, hopeless, or anxious. you might have trouble concentrating or making decisions, have a sudden drop in your grades, sleep too little or too much, act out or become disobedient like lie to your parents, misbehave in school, cheat on tests, shop lift, drive under the influence... etc. you may also have aches an dpains with no apparent cause, and think about suicide or death , or attempt suicide. nearly 70% of teens with dysthymia develop major depression... it is very important to get help as early as possible. hope i answered your question. if you have any more questions just drop one in my box! ]
